Civic Integration Act 2021
Civic Integration Act
If you have been granted a right of residence from 1 January 2022 or later, the rules of this Civic Integration Act apply to you. The Education Executive Agency (DUO) has determined that you are obliged to integrate. The municipality in which you live is responsible for the integration.
Housing
You still live in an asylum seekers center (AZC) and you have been granted a residence permit. You have been notified that you are going to live in a municipality. Our housing employee will invite you as soon as possible for an interview to get to know you. To then discuss with our colleagues from the municipality and with you a number of points that will help you and what kind of house you qualify for. We will then look together for a home in the municipality to which you are linked.
Need help?
Everything is new to you in the Netherlands and where you live. We want you to be helped. That is why you will have a permanent contact person at Status Holders Netherlands. This invites you for a conversation. To get acquainted, but also to agree together where you need help. You are responsible for your integration. The law requires you to commit yourself and participate. Your contact person will help you until you can do it yourself.
Your plan
What exactly the integration process looks like is different for everyone. If you live in a municipality, your contact person of Status Holders Netherlands and the municipality will draw up a plan for the integration together with you. This is called the Personal Integration and Participation Plan (PIP). This plan states what you must do for the integration. How you will learn the Dutch language and how you will prepare for work.
